Hi everyone! How are you? Things are good here in Sacramento and we've had the most perfect weather the past few days! We had a good weekend and we've been out in the front yard planting more flowers. Life is good and it's full on Summer now! I'm enjoying some iced coffee as I type this out. Lucky is passed out in a sunbeam on the floor.... I hope things are going great for you too. I have something very exciting and fun to share today. It's one of those posts that have tons of pictures (so grab some coffee or tea) and lots of information. My friend Cathe has her own brand new paper collection from Spellbinders! It's called Flea Market Finds!
I consider Cathe a friend, and she's part of our Northern California Crafty Girl Posse. She is so talented! I love everything she makes. I was really happy to be one of the first artists to work with her new paper crafting products! CLICK HERE to read a post from a while back when I visited her amazing studio.
The new collection is shabby-chic, vintage, retro, feminine, mixed media, stamping, goodness!! You know I love a good vintage inspired project!! The entire collection is available now for shopping. Also, further down in my post you'll see information about a current promotion that can save you money on your order! I have two cards and a rosette to share with you - all made with elements from Flea Market Finds! There are stamps, stencils, paper packs, sticker packs and printed die cuts. Everything is really nice quality and the colors are clear and vivid. It was a joy to work with everything. The collection launched this week - CLICK HERE to see the entire collection now.
Here is the first card! It's an A2 cards base made from Woodgrain cardstock for a bit (more) of texture. I mixed and matched papers, die cuts, tags, ribbons, a key, and all that good stuff! The focal elements were the roses and the butterfly/moth. The roses were fussy cut from one of the patterned papers. Everything was splashed with lots of DIstress inks and paints... I'll talk more about the details further down in my post.
And here is the second card I made! It's an A2 cream card base. I used some vintage music sheets from my stash, along with pretty elements from the new collection. Can you tell I really love the floral elements?? I have a big bin in my craft room with bits and bobs of vintage-y things for cards and I used some of those items for my projects.
And here is my decorative rosette! You know I love a good rosette! I made the base using vintage music sheets. I cut the music into 1.5" strips and scored them with my Scor-pal at 1/4" increments.... The center of the rosette is one of the Flea Market Finds Stickers that I turned into a button using my fave tool - my Button Press! LOVE MY BUTTON PRESS!! I added a bit of ribbon and a little pink birdie. I stamped the banners onto flags made from cream cardstock.
SO MANY BEAUTIFUL STAMP SETS!!! I love the Circle Label Icons the best! I'm going to use them a ton!
For my 'friend' card I started with a background paper and inked it and distressed the edges. I used the green shutters and one of the new stamps - to stamp that pretty vine onto them. I fussy cut out the roses... I stamped onto the tag and the background layer. I used a generous amount of splashed on Vintage Photo Ink... I made some vellum leaves... And added the friend die cut.... You see...I just kept adding more pretty things!
Here is a close up so you can see all the layers and stamping!
For the 'ribbons' coming off the rosette, I gently crumpled them in my fingers to make them wrinkly... I love that 'vintage' word stamp.
For this card I used a few different papers from the collection, and featured that pretty floral panel. I hand died some ribbon using Distress Inks and added a pretty glass button. I crinkled and crumbled everything and splashed it all with ink and water.
I did some stamping in brown ink onto the bottom layer.
I used Staz-on ink and stamped on that pretty postmark on top of the flowers. I also really distressed the edges with my DIstressing Tool (see supplies).
Right now Spellbinders is having a giant sale to celebrate their anniversary! Be sure to pop over to the website to see all the new things and to take advantage of the sale items and discounts!! There are so many pretty things - the new birthday collection is jaw dropping...
Thank you so much for hanging out with me today! I appreciate all of you, and your kindness and love! I hope I've inspired you to make something cool and vintage today. Take care! Love you! XOXO
What a beautiful collection Cathe designed and I love what you created with it, Wanda. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the WRMK button maker. Another thing I’m adding to my wish list!

Your friend is really talented and Spellbinders is lucky to have her... love the entire collection and I placed an order last week. Now I will have to go back and go through the Flea Market collection. Your photos are always so gorgeous and I love all the details in your telling of your work. Finished up in the garden early yesterday. Our weather has been beastly, but a cool down for a couple of days.
