Hi friends!! Hope your week is going great so far!! Another warm week here in Sacramento. I love the nice weather but I'm really hoping for a little more rain before Spring ends! We had beautiful rain on Monday! And we've already mowed the lawn a few times! On to today's post... A couple of weeks ago we went to the Scrapbook Expo and it was so fun. Super fun to be out and about at a crafting event! There weren't really too many booths - I think everyone was just coming out of Covid hibernation. I'm hopeful there will be more booths at the shows later in the year... However, the largest booth was the amazing Rubbernecker Stamps booth. It had SO many products and SO many dies and SO many samples! I was inspired to say the least. I got a huge haul of goodies and I was so excited to create! I'll be posting my projects in the coming weeks and I get around to using everything. I have been a fan of Rubbernecker for the entire 28 years I've been stamping. I have lots of their old stamps! Back in the day they used to sell unmounted red rubber at the stamp shows and we would all stand around the bin with a mirror to try to see what the image was!! (Anyone else remember doing that??!) I was very impressed (pun intended) and their FRESH look and fun products.
My first two cards with my new supplies have totally rad Summer surfing vibes! These cards were really fun to create. All the different dies are the right scale for perfect mixing and matching. And there are even tiny seagulls! Love. My first card for today was inspired by Miami Beach. Have you ever been there? One of the cool things is that all the lifeguard stations are painted differently with themes and colors. As you walk along the beach it's fun to check them all out. You can see some of them in THIS OLD POST from my blog!
The finished card is a 5"x5" square card. I used several of the dies to create a beach day out theme!! Cheerful umbrellas and cool waves...what I'm longing for right now! My card base is white, then some yellow stripes, then a frame for my scene. All the supplies are listed at the bottom of my post.
Here's a side view to see all the different layers. My sandy beach, the waves, the lifeguard tower.... So fun. The sentiment is from a discontinued Avery Elle stamp set and I thought it was perfect!
I die cut out all the pieces from Bazzill Smooth Cardstock. I splattered and inked and used a white gel pen to add all the finishing touches. The background is clouds!! I used a small piece of vellum to make the lifeguard tower window. Those fun seagulls have just a swipe of C1 Copic Marker to add some shading.
Here's a close up of my paper layers and also the sun dies...
I love these beach umbrellas... You can make them in so many different color combos!! I love crisp red and white.
Here's a close up of the Lifeguard Tower dies! The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder onto a black banner. Everything is popped up on the card with foam squares. Don't you wish you were here right now??!! I do!!
My next card is a sweet surfer beach van! My finished card is an A2 aqua card base. I layered white cardstock and then a white frame to create my scene. My beach van is in my favorite color, and I embellished it with some cute flowers and a surfboard! These are all my favorite Summer colors. I love those palm trees swaying by the sea.
There are a lot of pieces to making the van, and there is a guide sheet graphic on their website to show you where each piece goes. LOVE it when companies do that. Also, on unique thing about Rubbernecker is that their die sets are all on one sheet of metal....so you never lose a tiny die!!!! (I lose them all the time!)
I used two shades of green cardstock to make the palm tree leaves and layered them all together.
The van even has little pieces for the mirror and the air vents. SO detailed and realistic. I die cut a little surfboard and decorated it too!
Let's go surfing!!
The sentiment is from a cute set from Pretty Pink Posh! I die cut a circle frame out of the top layer and popped it up on foam tape, It's hard to see, but I also stenciled some pretty puffy clouds at the top of the base layer.
Here's a pic of my favorite stamp set I got!!! I absolutely go crazy for anything crafty themed!!!
Guess what?? Rubbernecker is having a sale today!!! Everything is 20% off through today only - so if you have your eye on something, now's the time! Use Code Flash20! Yay!
That's it for today! Hope the rest of your week goes great. I'm ready for Summer Vacation! LOLZ! Thanks for stopping by today!
