Fun with Taylored Expressions! Fun graphic Christmas Trees - in pink!

Hi everyone! Merry Christmas! Yes, I know I'm a little early, lol, but I'm excited to share some beautiful new stamps and dies and stencils from Taylored Expressions! Taylor has perfects the stamp/stencil combo in my opinion. She has turned me into a huge stencil fan! Today TE is launching brand new product lines for Winter and Christmas and I'm excited that I got to preview and try some things early!! I love how today's card came out - with all the pretty retro pastel colors and pops of gold!

My finished card is an A2 white card base. I layered gold glitter paper and then pretty pink paper for the top layer. I also used a classic vellum strip for my embossed sentiment. I love these colors together! Reminds me of the 60's.

 

This product suite has the big stamp of all the trees - which I heat embossed in gold... Then it has the matching stencils - which I used with Distress Oxide Inks and blender brushes... Finally it has the large matching Die - which I used to layer over the trees! I used foam tape strips to pop the pink part over the trees. The sentiment is from the Joyful Season Stamp Set (supplies are listed at the bottom of my post!)

 

I splattered white paint to look like snow all over my pretty trees....

 

I wrapped the vellum strip around everything before attaching it to my card base. Nice and polished looking!

 

 

 

I love making flat cards for mailing at the holidays! This would be easy to mail, but it still has a nice impact!

 

 

 

Are you ready to start Christmas crafting yet? I think I'm ready when I see all the pretty new things to craft with! But mentally I'm in Fall mode! LOL.

Doodlebug Mini Travel Album! Fun At The Park Collection!

Hi crafty and scrappy friends! I know most of us here are card makers....but are you a scrapbooker too?? I started scrapbooking and card making around the same time - in 1994. One of my good friends from work was a Creative Memories Consultant and we used to spend hours making our big old scrapbooks. Those were great times! I love that part of crafting and really miss it - everyone working until midnight making things!! Yes, I have books and books of Creative Memories created pages.... And photos cut into shapes.... And all those decorative scissors. GOOD MEMORIES!!! The last huge scrapbook I made was from our trip to Alaska several years ago. We don't have kids and we rarely go on big vacations.... From time to time I will make a mini album for something though, and I remember how fun it is.... Long story - short - I'm here today to share a Mini Travel Book! Happy Monday! This project is also up on the Doodlebug Blog today! Yeah! 

This mini book was made with items from the awesome Doodlebug Fun At The Park Collection! This collection is brilliant! It's perfect for capturing those park memories, and planning parties, and TRAVEL! So many of the design elements are perfect for vacation scrapbooks! I've made a mini Summer Vacation Album today. I used my Cinch to bind the book together. All the elements are from the Fun At The Park Collection. The finished album is 4.5" x 4.5" big. I used both 6x6 patterned papers and 12x12 patterned papers. Then I used all the things to decorate my book! Let's look! Tons of pictures in this post, so grab a cuppa.

Here's the cover - it makes me smile. I used black eyelets on the outside edges so I could wind some Chunky Twine through to close the book with a bow. I matched the papers with black cinch bindings. The front and back covers are chipboard, as well as a couple of the inside pages. The other inside pages are thick white cardstock covered with patterned paper. All this thick paper and chipboard give the album a nice weighty feeling. CLICK HERE for the supply list!

I tied the album shut with Red Chunky Twine - it looks so happy and cheerful!

 

I love that little seagull - he's funny! A big stack of luggage, sunshine and palm trees - my idea of a good time!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The next photos are each page of the album. You could make this with any of the Doodlebug Collections and it would be cute. I left spaces for notes and photos. I have an Instax camera that takes mini photos - can't wait to fill this up!

 

 

 

I put in a small glassine envelope for treasures, tickets and souvenirs!

Pretty Pink Posh - Autumn Greetings!

Hi everyone! Guess what today is? Officially the FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN 2021! Yayyyyy! Happy Fall Y'all! I'm giddy with excitement that my favorite season has finally arrived! Sunday morning we went to a local antique fair and we went out early in the morning....the air was crisp and cool and fresh....and it felt like Fall. And there were big poofy clouds. Thank you Jesus I exclaimed! After the hot dry summer we've had here, what a relief to feel some fresh air. Football has started, we already went to the apple orchards and our house is wall to wall decorated with Fall decor. Life is good today! I hope you're having a good week. Lots going on right now!

My card features the new Fall Corners Stamp Set. I tucked it into the Easter Basket Die and added a sweet scarecrow! The finished card is a white A2 card base. I layered some olive/white gingham (very old from my stash), some kraft, and then white. I used lots of Copics to color this scene with really vivid colors. 

 

Such a cute guy! Tip: I chose my patterned paper first and then matched the green in his shirt and the leaves - for a cohesive color palette. This is one way to bring your cards to another level. Two different greens would have looked nice, but I feel like this looks planned and matching. I put a cute little acorn tucked into his hat.

 

Here's a close up of those gorgeous pumpkins!!! This floral/pumpkin spray is all one stamp. Super easy!

 

I die cut the Easter Basket out of kraft cardstock and then inked it with some distress inks and added white splatters...

 

I tied a bit of twine around the handle and added one orange enamel dot.

Fun with Waffle Flower - New Brushes and Stencil Mats - and adorable Coffee Shop Hamsters!

Hi friends! Happy Weekend! I'm wishing you an excellent morning and a great weekend! My husband and I have been so busy I'm not even sure what day it is. It sure feels good to be busy, but it's also weird, right? It's like we've lost our stamina to be out and about and we're extra tired. I personally think it's just been bad to be at home so much. I am beyond ready to be out in the fresh air and doing things. Fall is my favorite season and we've been trying to get out and do a few of our favorite things. Tomorrow we are headed to a local antique fair outside in the fresh air and I can't wait. Today is about getting caught up on emails and things. What are you up to!? 

Today's post is a love letter to my friends at Waffle Flower....and their awesome products! I have a card to share and also a new product suite they released this week. Lots of info and lots of pictures in this post. I am humbled by the generosity of Nina and Waffle Flower - always sending me things to try and test out. And everything is always wonderful. Can't wait to show you all the things today!

This card is a coffee shop for hamsters!!! Um, how freaking adorable is this!!?? A stamp set called Coffee Shop Hamsters!! And a set of Storefront Builder dies and some perfectly brewed sentiments too! I was smiling the entire time I was making this card. It was a joy! The finished card is an A2 white card base layered with red and gingham, then a white layer with clouds, then my little coffee shop. 

 

Can you just see me in the craft room smiling as I'm stamping this?? I made a cloudy sky with the Sky Scene Stencils and then stamped the sentiment onto a circle to look like a sign. The awning was made with the new dies and I alternated white and black segments. My dream café would look just like this - sorta French, sorta friendly and white cute gingham curtains!

 

I stamped and die cut out the hamsters, cake, coffee, table and chairs and colored everything with Copic Markers. Can you see the little guy inside the door getting ready to leave with his coffee?? I used vellum for the glass in the door and to make the CAFE sign over the table. 

 

The Storefront Builder dies set comes with everything! Curtains, awning, door, etc. Whatever you can imagine to create!

 

I made the red door and matched the gingham curtains over the big window and the door. These guys remind me of me and my husband - we looooove to go out for coffee! (and we're kinda fluffy too!)

 

 

 

I stamped a coffee mug on the vellum to make the door glass - love it!

 

Okay - so let's talk about the new Waffle Flower Blender Brushes Set! THEY ARE SOOO PRETTY!!!! Here is the full set....in the acrylic holder you can buy separately. It's so graphic and clean and nice.

 

 

 

The cute Waffle Flower Logo is on the back of each brush. I've already used them a few times and they are like BUTTAH. So smooth, especially with my Oxide Inks!

 

The other new products are Stencil Mats - there are two sizes of silicone mats to use for stenciling!! They have corners so you can line up your paper and stencil PERFECTLY. And the silicone is a bit sticky, so your stencils stay put... The other great thing is that they are so easy to clean.

 

 

 

 

There are new accessory bins too! I will probably use these for water on my desk. Lucky seems to thing they would be great for Cat Treats!! LOLZ.

Easy clean up with a baby wipe! Love that!!

Happy Haunting! With Hello Bluebird!

Happy Haunting! It's getting closer to Halloween Time! Yippeeeee! Hope you've been having a great week! I'm popping in with one more Halloween card I made with the new Hello Bluebird release that just launched!! I love their Halloween stamp sets. They are always so whimsical and adorable. Today's card is a sweet little Trick or Treating scene...reminiscent of my younger days when it was all about the candy!

My finished card is a 5.5" x 5.5" square white card base. I layered some gingham and black and more white (covered in clouds).... Then the feature element - those cute little haunters!! They're the BOO Crew! Under the bright moon, collecting their candies!

 

Here's a close up of my card layers... That purple gingham sets off the purple clouds quite nicely! SO fun!

 

I stamped and die cut out all the elements and colored them with Copic Markers.... I kept the color palette simple and bright!

 

My favorite cloud stencil, this time in purple! A spooky Halloween Sky...

 

The sentiment was heat embossed onto the 'hill' for a pop of white against black.

 

All the images and elements were attached to the card using foam tape.

 

Fun fact....I used to get teased and called "Wanda the Witch" when I was little. Remember Wanda from Sesame Street??? She has W's in her hair... So I am partial to cute little witches.

 

I ink blended a stitched circle to be the moon. Lots of golden yellow tones.

Pretty Pink Posh September New Release Blog Hop! Cozy Fall Critters!

Hi crafty, fall loving friends! It's time for more Fall funnnnnn! There is a wonderful new release from Pretty Pink Posh this week, and it's ALL about FALL! Think leaves, and cute critters wearing sweaters (my fav), and pumpkins....and all that good stuff! This is Day two of a big, fabulous three day Blog Hop! All the details and the hop links are at the bottom of my post. So happy to be included in the lineup because you know how much I love Pretty Pink Posh!! 

THE NEW RELEASE IS ALREADY IN THE STORE FOR SHOPPING NOW! YAY!

My card today features three new stamp sets and dies! I used the Cozy Fall Critters, The Falling Leaves and the Fall Corners sets!! What's not to love...and everything goes together perfectly. The finished card is an A2 horizontal Kraft card base. I layered white, and created an oval for my little scene.

 

 

These new Falling Leaves stamps are the PERFECT size!! I'm going to use these A LOT. I stamped and Copic colored several leaves and added white gel pen accents. I wanted to create a frame of leaves around the oval.... I popped in some acorns too! 

 

Here are the adorable sweater wearin' cute critters!! I used a warm palette of gold and orange, and then popped in some teal. I love how they can hold leaves and acorns. I used bits and bobs of Diamond Stickles for a bit of glittery goodness.

 

I used the PPP Spooky Fence Die to go behind the critters. I made the hill by die cutting three of the Borders in green paper....Gotta get creative!

 

 

 

I used Distress Oxide ink and blender brushes to make a pretty teal/blue sky and stamped the sentiment directly onto the ink blending. I like how the color of the sky matches their outfits and sort of ties it all together. 

 

 

 

Here is the card pointed towards the window so you can see the sparkly bits!!!

Doodlebug - Fun At The Park Collection - Movie Night Party!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! Now it's time for MORE crafting! I am so busy - and I'm loving it! Thanks for coming along with me for all the fun the past few weeks. I have more good things coming!! And, gosh, I'm so excited today to share my first project made with the new Doodlebug Fun At The Park Collection!  I am in love with this bright color palette and everything is fresh and happy! This collection is seriously genius! Doodlebug does it again! It's a Disney Parks theme....but also a travel theme, and also a fun food theme....all rolled into one. And I know I already mentioned it once, but THE COLORS!!!! GAH. Love it so much. 

When I opened my box of goodies, the first thing that came to my mind was - Movie Night! So I went with that theme for my projects! We have all been spending a lot of time at home watching movies, right? So why not make it fun for everyone!? I made a party! This collection would be great for a Movie Party, an Oscars Party, or a Birthday Party. No limit to the creativity you can have with these fun supplies. I used the Fun At The Park Collection to create treat boxes and candy favors and a cute sign for the table...

 

I used some Oldie but Goodie dies for this project. (Popcorn Die and Fry Die)... But, you can find templates on the web to die cut out a popcorn box shape or fry box shape - so easy! One of the things I love about Doodlebug papers is that they are double sided. So whatever you make, it looks pretty on the other side (inside) too! I used polka dots for the popcorn box. I filled it with a cello bag and candies. I used the super cute buttons and twine to tie it off. I tucked in some accents attached to straws to make it more fun.

 

Here's my movie night sign! You could even make this into invitations - I cut the film strips off of the 12x12 paper pack and added stars and hearts and fuzzy alphabets. The alphabet is so cute!! 

 

I also made a french fry box filled with candies.... I love that polka dot pattern on the inside! My movie night would certainly include all these things: popcorn, candy, hot dogs, and soda!! MMMMM.

 

 

 

 

 

How cute are these fireworks???!!! 

 

I found some bright yellow and red candies at Walgreens.... And doing individual packs keeps the germs away right now.... The cello bags can be found at your local craft store - look in the cake decorating aisle!

The Greetery - Leaf and Blade Collection for Autumn 2021!

Hi everyone!!! Are you ready for a new release from The Greetery?! I know I am!! No doubt about that! I am sharing three cards today, made with supplies from the fabulous Leaf & Blade Collection! All the pretty things for Fall and Autumn occasions! Stamps, Dies, Stencils...and hot foiling too! It's all very pretty and very classy - just as you would expect from The Greetery. I used shades of Fall and warm color palettes for all my projects today - and that makes me very happy! Yippee! 

Everything will be available for shopping in The Greetery Store on September 10th at 10am EST!! YAY!!

The first card is FALL on paper! The finished card is a kraft card base that is 5" x 5" square. I used the brand new Rustic Wreath stamps and dies along with the Fall Foliage Hot Foil plate and dies....and the new Autumn Word die!! Oh, and for good measure, I also used the gorgeous Tartan Builder Stencils in gold and orange....

 

The Rustic Wreath Dies are BEAUTIFUL!! I die cut them from woodgrain cardstock and splashed everything with gold paint! The Autumn Word is die cut from dark woodgrain cardstock and vellum.... So elegant. My layers are: Kraft, Brown, Cream, Plaid, Cream.... LOTS of layers on this card. I love it!

 

Here's a good close up of the dies.... See how it's designed?? The bottom die serves as a template for the twig dies to lay on - so you get a perfect wreath. Genius I tell ya!

 

Here's my pretty fall plaid! I used the Tartan Builder Diagonal Stencils and only three colors: Yellow, orange and brown. SO warm, like a big sweater!!

 

Once my wreath was assembled, I added a brown bow with a shimmery golden enamel dot in the center. I wanted a leaf sprig in there too... I used the new Fall Foliage Hot Foil plate to make the leaves sparkle. I wanted to see how the hot foiling would look on textured cardstock - and it came out better than I had hoped!! I used matte gold foil onto the AC cardstock. This is super pretty in person!

 

 

 

I used my Distresser Tool on the edge of that bottom cream layer! 

 

 

 

Next up is a pretty Autumn Curio! I was really hoping that Betsy would do a Curio Dies set for Autumn...and she did! Yeah! This finished card is a kraft card base and then layered with some patterned paper from my stash. All of the elements were die cut and then edged with Distress Inks and accented with white gel pen.... SO MUCH FUN to make this card. Truly joyful crafting!

 

I am very partial to oak trees and acorns.... They symbolize Autumn, and so many other things to me. 

 

I used elements from the original Curio Findings along with elements from the new Curio Findings to make my Autumn themed curio box. I had fun mixing and matching things with a warm color palette. 

 

 

 

 

I used a few elements from the Pretty Postmarks stamp set too...

 

This makes me so happy!!

 

For my last card, I used the new Fall Foliage Stamps and Dies to make a bright and fresh Fall card! The finished card is an A2 white card base. I layered in a bit of orange gingham and then a white layer, and white circle to use as a frame for the leaves. 

 

I stamped and die cut all of the leaves out. I used Copic Markers to add bits of darker color to the leaves... Then I splashed everything with white ink... 

 

I tucked the leaves into the Crimped Circle to frame that pretty sentiment.

 

 

 

I do like a POP of teal in with my warm Fall colors!!

Hello Bluebird New Release - September 2021!

Hi everyone! So as you know, this time of year is crazy for crafting! One day it's Christmas, then the next day it's Halloween cards, then Fall cards, and then back to Christmas cards! It's pretty fun, though, because I love all of those things!! Today I'm showcasing something else I love - Hello Bluebird Stamps! Yippeee! They have a new release today and I made three cards with some of the new items. I'll share two today, and one a bit later in the month. Their stamps and dies are so fun and happy and they make creating cards easy! CLICK HERE to shop the Hello Bluebird Store!! The release will be live later today!

First up is a super fun card with cutie pie ghosties and happy pumpkins!! I loved making this card! I used the new Jack Dies and the new Ghostly Night Dies. I used the previously released frame and tree to create my Halloween scene. This finished card is A2 size. I used some gingham and black to keep a traditional Halloween color palette....

 

The background clouds were made with a stencil and some Peacock Distress ink for a pop of color. I die cut all the pieces out and then had fun deciding on a card layout...

 

Those little pumpkins, tho.

 

I used a few Copic Markers on my ghosties to give them cheeks and a bit of color to their 'bodies' 

 

This happy guy is hugging his favorite pumpkin!!

 

And she's a little witchy poo with her broom, flying through the sky! Adorbs. Hello Bluebird thought of everything - down to the little die for the buckle on the hat. All the details are what I love!!

 

Next up is a cheerful any/all occasion card made with the new Big Paper Hugs Die and the new Balloon Buddies stamp set!! The finished card is an A2 card base covered in plaid paper from my craft stash. This card could be for a birthday, or get well, or just encouragement. 

 

I had a lot of fun coloring these images!! I tried some new to me Copic techniques here, and I really like the result. My tendency is to not use the really dark colors....but here I did just that....and I am happy with how that makes the contrast kinda pop!! I also added more white gel pen accents than I normally would. I think it was nice to get out of my comfort zone!

 

I colored the balloons in a rainbow, but didn't put them all in rainbow order.... I added some tiny hearts too.

 

These adorable little critters would make anyone smile!!

 

 

 

The die set for the words says "Big Paper Hugs" and I chose to use only the 'hugs' part of the die. I also made the word go vertically instead of horizontally on my card - to fit the design.

Hey there crafty people!!! I'm sharing something yellow and bright today - sunflowers! MORE sunflowers! Yes, seems like we are all loving sunflowers this year! What is more cheerful and happy than that? Um, not much! Today I'm in an awesome blog hop to celebrate the new Hero Arts My Monthly Hero September Card Kit! So happy to be hopping today with the Hero Arts crew!!

From cool, crisp days with blowing leaves, to wonderful fall blooms and pumpkins galore, this release and kit will get you in the mood for the changing season. I used the main kit for my card! I used the stencils with the matching die to create and cut that bold cluster of flowers - that take up most of the card!! So lovely. My finished card is an A2 white card base. I layered some teal and then more white. The flowers are the star of the show. 

 

I started by stenciling the Sunflower Stencils (there are five of them that layer perfectly) with Distress Inks and the blending brushes. Then I die cut it out with the matching die. I splattered the whole piece with white ink!! I added brown gems for a bit of sparkle....

 

I affixed the flower cluster to the card at an angle, and used foam tape to make it pop!

 

I die cut the sentiment and the layer out from woodgrain cardstock and vellum....

 

I used just a bit of twine to add a natural element to the card.

Pinkfresh Studio Holiday 2021 New Release! Blog Hop fun and inspiration!

Hello Crafty Friends and Creative People!! Happy Monday! Let's have some fun! It's going to be a busy couple of weeks here on the blog and I have a lot of fun things to share with you! Today, we're starting the fun with a blog hop celebrating the gorgeous new Holiday 2021 Release from our friends at Pinkfresh Studio! My first card for today has a cheerful retro feeling to it. I used shades of pink, mint and aqua to mimic the Christmas cards of the 1950's.... Soft and pretty! My finished card is an A2 card base in cream cardstock. I used the Diagonal Stripes background die and then the top features the brand new Holiday Ornaments Stencils and Dies.... (I am quickly becoming a big stenciling fan!!)

 

 

 

 

The sentiment is from another new stamp set: Under the Christmas Tree! I loved just putting a simple sentiment on this card!!

 

I started by choosing my pastel ink colors - and stenciling the ornaments and the pine boughs. Then I used the matching die cuts to cut them out so precisely! I used Antique Linen Distress Ink to gently 'age' the ornaments and the top cream layer. The small yellow starbursts are also on the stencils!! Easy to place them wherever you like.

 

I used two pine boughs in shades of cool green. I splattered some white paint 'snow' onto everything! Very festive!

 

The images are all affixed to the card with foam tape.

 

I added just a few blue Sprinkles to pick up some more aqua to the card! 

 

Next up is another Christmas card, featuring beautiful stencils! This one in traditional red and green with a pop of silver! I used the Holiday Botanical Stencils to create the pretty greenery frame. The finished card is a red A2 card base.

 

I stenciled all the different colors using the layering stencils and then die cut out the stenciled paper using a stitched rectangle die. I layered some vellum and then a red circle as my paper layers. 

 

I used the new Perfect Sentiments: Holidays Hot Foil plate (with silver foil) and die cut the words out with the matching dies! LOOOOVE!!! LOVE. LOVE. So fresh!! I die cut several snowflakes from silver glitter cardstock to make it nice and icy.

 

Here is a photo of my stenciling by itself. Isn't that nice? So easy to get this look with the layered stencils!!! 

 

I added a few white glitter sprinkles to the centers of the snowflakes.
