Hi everyone! Happy FRI-YAY! How was your week? I hope it was a good one! My week was super duper busy. Lots and lots of assignments and crafting, and a haircut, and all kinds of other good things. I have crafty packages arriving on a daily basis now - that big rush before Fall and Christmas crafting. So many great things are coming. And I can't wait to share everything with you! I hope you have a great weekend!! XO
Today I'm in a big Instagram Hop for Honey Bee Stamps! They had a new release this week called Autumn Splendor.... It's amazing, of course!! Everything is already in the store for shopping. There are some prizes in the Instagram Hop, so if you have Instagram, head over to see the projects and enter to win a prize too! Yay!
My card today features the brand new Sunflowers Dies and the brand new Buzzwords/Fall Dies....along with some of my old favorites from Honey Bee. My finished card is a white 5"x5" square card. No stamping on this one, just lots of dies, and distress ink blending!! Sunflowers are one of my favorite things this time of year...they are my go to end of summer flower. And I love yellow too!
I started my card off by die cutting the pieces of the sunflowers. I used pale yellow cardstock for all the petals pieces, and two shades of brown cardstock for the centers. I used shades of yellow/amber Distress Inks to shade all the petals and then splattered on some brown ink. I inked the edges of the brown centers and splattered on some white paint only on one side.
Here is a side view of the sunflower layers. The yellow parts have three sections. I affixed mine together with foam tape so they are thick and full. I used liquid glue to affix the centers.
I die cut two sections of the Farm Fence Die and inked the pieces with Pumice Distress Ink. I die cut the word thankful from brown woodgrain cardstock. I think this would be a good Thanksgiving card! I may also end up framing this in an open frame and using it as a home decor piece. What do you think?
I used two shades of blue Distress Inks to make my background (to look like bright blue sky)... Tip: Use smooth Bristol cardstock for your ink blending! Much easier to blend on this smoother paper! I added just a little bit of gingham paper to match the brown in the flowers. I wrapped some pretty natural twine around the fence part too.
Lemme tell ya....these dies are fantastic!! Like buttah. See the perfect embossed details??? Love it.
That's it for today's card. Hop on over to the Honey Bee website to see this beautiful new release! Today, I'm up on The Greetery Blog with a TGIF project! Whew I told you there's a lot going on! I will post that card here tomorrow probably. Take care, and I'll see you real soon! Thanks for coming by today! XO

Absolutely LOVE this card! The dimension and colors of the sunflowers are phenomenal and the ingrained look of the “wooden” fence are amazingly realistic!

This is so gorgeous! I saw it in your peeks and also on Instagram. This one is definitely on my wish list. I need to try growing sunflowers! My neighbor plants them and right now they are about 10 feet tall and the heads are bent because they are so heavy with seeds. I want some in my yard!! Happy weekend!
