Hi guys! Happy weekend - I hope you are doing well and enjoying the weekend. I'm sending lots of love your way today with a bright and bold flower card! I finalllllly got a set of these beautiful dies! They sold out twice before I finally got to order some. YAY! They are the Honey Bee Coneflowers Dies set. They are a total knockout!! They are back in stock as I'm typing this, but I can't guarantee for how long. POW POW POW. Sometimes, a crafty thing comes along and takes us all by storm. After I sat down to make my project, I see why. Super easy, and SUPER great results! Let's get started!
My finished card is a white A2 card base. I layered a big chunky Kraft layer and then my flowers and sentiment. The star of the show are those flowers and leaves. Yellow Coneflowers are actually one of my favorite flowers. They are so happy and cheerful.
Here's a good side view of the flowers. There are four pieces to each flower (for the petals) and two pieces for the center. There are also two sizes of leaves. The dies have a deep embossing to them too. Really lovely. I die cut all of the petal pieces from yellow cardstock. I used both distress inks and Copic Markers to add the shading to the yellow pieces. When I glued them together, I glued the tops all flat, with no foam tape. Then I inserted foam tape under the yellow parts to make just those parts pop.
One of my favorite stamp sets is the Sending Love sentiments from Waffle Flower. The bold font fit perfectly with the scale of this card.
Here's another side view and close up of my inking and shading.
My flowers, before I glued them onto my card....
A few weeks ago, we went to our local flower farm and I gathered all of these flowers.... This was the inspiration for my card today!
I splattered on some white paint to the background layer and the flower centers. I also used Distress Inks to shade the green leaves. I added a few clear droplets as my finishing touch.
Thanks for stopping in today to see my happy Coneflowers!! I hope I made you smile, and inspired you too. XOXO

Your card is amazing! I’ve tried twice to order these dies too. Maybe I’ll get them this time. It’s great that you had a bouquet of real flowers for comparison. Just amazing how realistic these dies are. Enjoy your weekend! Stay safe. We have fires in northern Mn now too. In the Superior National Forest. Such a lovely place. So many things to pray for these days.
