Hi friends! I was cleaning and organizing my Christmas crafting supplies (bins full) and I discovered these pretty stamps that I haven't used in years! You know how that is! You always find something good when you're going through your stuff! These are wood mount stamps made by my friend and local artist Peggy Jo Ackley. She is an illustrator of books and an amazing pencil artist. Unfortunately she doesn't make stamps any more!!! BOO. So I treasure the ones that I have. So after I found these pretty ice skates stamp an idea popped in my head and I sat down at my desk. This card practically made itself!! Once I get the idea, it's on!! The bins are still messy but I have a pretty card. That's a good thing. I'm really into pink this year for Christmas and it makes me ridiculously happy. So here's a pretty in pink creation for you!
This finished card is an A2 white card base. I used one of my very favorite products of alllllll time to make that gorgeous background.... Stamped, glittered and colored to my pastel heart's content...
The ice skates image and the merry christmas sentiment are both wood mount stamps. They stamp so clean! I stamped and colored in with my Copics and then die cut them with stitched circle and stitched oval dies. I splashed some snow on that pretty pink background. A little pop of peppermint twist twine...
Here's a close up of the coloring. I used a nice olive green to offset the pink and white in the image. Added glitter to the skates too! The snowflake dies were die cut from white paper. Then I added pink enamel dots.
I was going to layer the pink die cut background over white cardstock but it just didn't look like I wanted. So I did a tone on tone with both being pink and voila! That's the look - just like a pretty vintage sweater.
The tiny green leaf is from an old Prima collection called Sweet Peppermint. (Yeah I found some good old stuff in those bins!)
Here's my coloring before I die cut them out. These pix are with my phone from my desk!
Quality Control Inspector checking out my die cutting technique! LOLZ.
Here's that pretty pink on pink with white paint splatters! (and a foot!!!) Never a dull moment around here.
The inspector finally went back and laid down in his bed!
That's it for today! I'll be back tomorrow sharing my Concord & 9th projects for Feature Friday! Yippeeee! See you then friends! Have a great day! XOXO
