Hi everyone! Happy Palm Sunday, and Happy Holy Week! I sure do miss going to church and really am going to miss it this week especially. This morning I got up and watched church on my phone in the craft room. Um, okay, we're doing things a little differently now right? I was happy to hear the music and even had a little tear in my eye. I will be so happy when we can all get back to normal things again... Wishing you a blessed and beautiful week. Easter is my favorite holiday and I will try to make it as special as I can for us here at our home. Sending you hugs and love. I hope you are holding up okay right now.
Yesterday I had kind of a breakthrough. Breakdown? Not sure really. I poured my heart out in a very very long Instagram post and it felt good to get all my feelings out into the world. My hope was that just maybe I could make even one person feel better by letting them know they're not alone. Well, the outpouring of love in the comments and wise words filled my cup and uplifted me so much. I awoke this morning feeling a lot better than yesterday and ready to try to create.
This morning I ended up making a clean and simple card to celebrate the amazing grace shown to me yesterday by my IG friends and every day by my savior. I used pretty palm leaf dies and a gorgeous sentiment, and my fav watercolors. The finished card is an A2 card base from brown paper from my stash...
I used my MISTI to stamp this GORGEOUS sentiment directly onto a watercolor cardstock panel. I wanted it to look watercolored to match the leaves. I put the stamp onto my MISTI and inked it with water based Distess Ink. Before stamping it, I used a sprayer to mist the ink on the stamp... Then I stamped it. The water on the ink on the stamp makes a soft flowing edge, like watercolor ink!! Perfect. This stamp is from the set called Handlettered Easter by TE. This stamp series (handlettered) is really really pretty. I'm working on collecting all of them for my stash. LOVE.
I die cut three of the palm leaves using watercolor paper. Then I used watercolor paints to color them in pretty green shades. Once they were dry I added green splatters. I also used gold paint to splatter the background panel.
Here's a close up of the leaves and coloring. This is really a wonderful die set! Flowers and leaves both. CLICK HERE to see a card I made with them last year! I tied a bit of twine around the bottom of the cards also for a bit more somethin somethin.
Thank you for coming by today! Sending hugs your way! XOXO

We have been thankful that our service is streaming and I'm with you. Holy week always was special for us. I hope your spirits are lifted and this wonderful card sure shows you that way. Our state will probably extend it's stay home order at least till June so our travel plans have now been cancelled. We have loads of work around our house and I keep busy with my card making. Sending lots of extras to my friends who are home bound. Stay positive and we will get through this...

I, too, miss attending my physical church especially now with Easter. I have been able to attend several church group meetings via Zoom which has been so nice. I love your card and am trying my best to make the most of this time at home. We recently moved so I am still unpacking boxes, weeding out excess stuff and doing lots of yardwork. I haven't had much time at all to craft, but that's okay because I can't complain about boredom. Thanks for the encouragement and sharing your testimony. :D

This is such a beautiful card with an inspiring message too. I am missing church especially for Good Friday. I did see someone share there are Bible videos on Prime right now. I really like this stamp set and your idea of making it look watercolored is right on! Your creations are motivating me to get into my craft room more. Hugs for a special Holy Week. His mercies are never ending. God Bless you sweet Wanda!

Beautiful card, love it! I can't wait for things to get back to normal either. But from what the professionals say in my family this will be our new normal until they come out with a vaccine. We just have to keep busily happy and pray pray pray! I do think some good will come out of this. We are all learning to do without and our country has gotten too commercialized maybe this will change things. Thank you for your inspiration. Your cake looked yummy too!
