Hey everybody! Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! It was HOT here again this weekend so we were kind of lazy. My husband has been working super hard at work and I think it's good to make him rest every once in a while too. It was a good weekend full of cooking, crafting and napping. Yeah! Now here we are the last week of August...and this coming weekend is Labor Day! Can you believe it? You know I'm ready because I love Fall!
Last week was kind of crazy here on the blog! Three posts in one day??!! It's been a while since that happened. Thank you for stopping by to see all my posts, and for all the kind and lovely comments. I read them ALL! Good luck with all the prizes!!
Last Thursday was the launch of the new Lawn Fawn release! OMG it's wonderful! Thursday morning I got in the car early and drove to my local stamp store to get my hands on those cute stamps! I can say that I was the very first one to get them! They weren't even priced yet, before I was pawing through them making my selections! It's alllll soooo goooood.
I think my favorite thing from the release is the Build A Home Die Set. I have so many ideas for this die that I had to start making a list! All the ideas kept running through my brain. So you'll be seeing more of that one! LOL. For the first idea (my card today) I knew I wanted to create a cozy Farmhouse for Autumn. This is my dream house! A pretty modern Farmhouse set amongst the Fall foliage. A red door, grey trim, pretty white bricks... You can imagine it, right? So I made that into a card to share today!
The finished card is a white A2 card base. I layered some pretty gold cardstock as the bottom layer. Then the clouds layer, and then everything else! Here is a close up of the house. Can you see the bricks?? I die cut the main house image from cream cardstock, and then ran it through a pretty Brick Embossing Folder. Then I used a sponge dauber and a bit of grey ink over the embossing. EEK. The roof and awning are both from grey cardstock. It seems like a lot, but actually all the pieces were easy to figure out. Tip: Leave all the dies connected so you don't lose one. (ask me how I know this!) Just cut a piece of scrap paper and put it over the part you need from the die before you run it through your cutting machine.
I have been collecting Lawn Fawn stamp sets for a long time! I used a few different sets to stamp and die cut out the birch trees, the pile of leaves, the rake and the chipmunk! Oh, and my favorite sentiment! I stamped and colored everything with Copic Markers in warm tones.
The clouds cover plate is a favorite in my craft room. I am really into Distress Ink blending right now too. I blended an Autumn sky in shades of blue and gold. I splattered some white ink over the panel too. I die cut a hill for the bottom of the card and used green Distress inks for that part.
Here is my ink blended panel before putting the card together. I used Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Wild Honey, Broken China and Squeezed Lemonade. It's really pretty in person! Are you into ink blending?? I can't seem to get enough!!
Here is my little Farmhouse before I put it on the card!
Don't you want to jump right in to that pile of leaves!!??
I added a tiny bit of white ink to the door for aging, and one yellow heart! I attached all the pieces to the card using glue and foam tape.
If I wish hard enough, maybe I'll win lotto and I can buy my pretty Farmhouse in the country!!!
Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope your week is a good one! What are you doing for the long weekend?? I'm not sure yet what we're doing. College football starts Saturday, so maybe we'll go to a game? We'll play it by ear. Take care! XOXO

Lawn Fawn's new release is phenomenal... Love your little farm house. I live in farm country but would love to see this house on my street. Everyone is cutting hay like crazy and soon the corn fields with start to disappear, fall is definitely on its way. Loving all your posts. So happy...
