Summer Pool Party with Avery Elle!

Hi everyone!!! Happy weekend again! I hope you had a fantastic week! My week went by so fast. I was really busy making lots of things and going here and there. The weather here has been perfect!! Nice to be outside. Today I'm going to a Convalidation Ceremony for one of my friends and a party after to celebrate. Really looking forward to it! What are you doing this weekend?? Whatever it is, have fun!! 

Today I'm sharing a card sure to make you smile!! It's a pool party! LOL! The absolutely cutest stamps from Avery Elle!! I colored these images a few days ago for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, and then finally made them into a card. This is why we craft, to smile! The finished card is A2 sized.

 

I made the card base from white cardstock and then covered the entire front of the card with the PERFECT paper from Sunny Studio! The paper has the subtle blue waves on it and it matched my project exactly. I love it when that happens! 

 

The images were all stamped and die cut with the matching dies and colored with Copic Markers. I used a white gel pen to add highlights over my coloring. I also used quite a bit of clear shimmer pen on the elements. I love this sentiment!! Wishing you Sunshiny Days for sure!

 

The most adorable clouds! I added a tiny edge of color (BG11) and some shimmer to them before putting them on the card. All the elements are affixed to the card with foam tape.

 

I had a hard time deciding what color to do her bathing suit and the unicorn hair... I finally decided to do both parts in a soft pastel rainbow! Really just funnnnn!

Taylored Expressions Blender Brush Product Launch! Day Two - Crafts and Coffee!

Hellooooo! Today is day two of the launch of a brand new AMAZING product from Taylored Expressions! Did you see my post from yesterday? Did you order some brushes? If you don't know what's going on, I'll explain here! Okay, so what's going on??? Blender Brushes!!! Taylored Expressions has brand new, beautiful blender brushes in a set for you to use for all your crafting! Here is my fun and crafty card for today! It combines my two favorite things - crafts and coffee! I used the blender brushes to color in a panel I created with the awesome brick embossing folder! Yesterday I used the brushes with a stencil. They are so versatile and easy to use for many different techniques! My finished card is A2 sized for reference. 

 

This was a super fun card to create! I used a coffee stamp set, a crafting stamp set an embossing folder, and some awesome letters dies! When I decided to use the brick embossing folder, the idea came to me! A craft loft! LOL. It has LONG been my dream to have my own studio space with an exposed brick wall and those giant floor to ceiling windows....ahhhh. A girl can dream! So I created my own paper brick wall! Ha!

 

I stamped all the images. Some were cut out by hand and some have matching dies... I colored with my Copic Markers. Then I die cut the letters to spell out crafts and coffee... Mixed and matched everything until I could make it all fit on the card! 

 

Here is that beautiful embossing folder! 

 

I used my blender brushes to add four different shades of ink to the brick!!! I just kept blending and inking and blending....until it looked the way I wanted!

 

 

 

 

 

Here is the final brick wall! After inking I splattered brown Distress Ink and then white ink all over it to make it look old and vintage! I really like how it came out. 

 

 

 

I used white ink to splatter onto the black die cut letters and then attached them to the card with foam tape to raise them up. The other elements are also attached with foam tape. Of course I added TWO coffee cups! The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder onto black cardstock, to finish it all off.

Here is my fun and colorful card for today. I started with a white A2 card base and layered my favorite color of teal/aqua cardstock...

 

The top layer was stenciled using the Polka Party Stencil, Cookie Monster Ink, and the new blender brushes. I tell you, it was so fast and easy when using the brushes!! I stamped and die cut out the pretty cupcake, cherry and cupcake holder. I added some bits of Diamond Stickles....

 

This pretty sentiment is perfect on this card!! I stamped it in rich black ink.... For the center big circle, I die cut the circle first and then ran it through the Sprinkles Embossing Folder to add a bit of interest. 

 

Here are some in-process shots. I love that stencil! It's 6x6 inches so it easily covers a large area. 

 

 

 

This is my very favorite color from Taylored Expressions - Cookie Monster!! I love that the ink and the cardstock coordinate PERFECTLY! (And envelopes too!) So your projects look sharp and pretty. 

 

Here's a shot of the blender brush set in the caddy. It spins too! It looks so pretty on my desk or on the shelf when I'm not using them! The handles are comfortable and easy to hold. And, rainbow. Right???

Bee Happy Card with Hello Bluebird Stamps and Copics!

Howdy friends! Happy Weekend! And, officially, now Happy Summer! Did you have a good week? My week went by so fast!! I had a lot more to do and didn't get it all done... I guess there's always next week. Ha! I've been working on coloring every day for the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I was on a roll but then I had a few days where I wasn't home. I'll get caught up! How about you? Are you joining in with Kathy and everyone on Instagram?? It's a super fun way to challenge yourself to do something creative every day. I'm all about it! 

For one of the days, I colored these SUPER CUTE bees stamps. So I made them into a card to share! Clean and simple and oh so sweet. These little bees will melt your heart. Colored with Copics and then I added some gingham to the mix. This card has everything happy! The finished card is A2 size in white. One layer of gingham from my stash, and then a die cut scalloped rectangle. Those stamps are the star of the show.

 

I stamped and die cut out two bees, a snail and the bunch of strawberries. I colored everything with Copic Markers and then added white highlights with a gel pen. The bee wings have a touch of shimmer added with a Clear Wink Of Stella pen.

 

I stamped the little bee trails with black ink directly onto the top layer. I also stamped the sentiment right onto the top layer. I love the font!

 

 

 

That little snail is just cruising by.... The images are so adorable. Truly.

 

 

 

 

That's it for today! The hubs and I are off to get on the ferry to San Francisco to go to the Farmers Market today. It's one of my favorite summer things to do! Fruity Shaker Cards with Queen & Company!

Hellooooo friends! Feeling fruity and fun today here on the blog! I have a couple of cheerful fruity shaker cards to share with you! I feel like Carmen Miranda all of a sudden. LOL. I sort of love anything that is fruit themed. Lemons, oranges, berries...love it all. It seems like those things just make for the cutest cards. Today's cards are made with the most fun Shaker Card Kit from Queen and Company! If you've never crafted with one of their kits before - I highly recommend it! They have found a way to make making shaker cards SUPER easy and quick. All the hard part is done for you! I love their kits - I have all of them! CLICK HERE to shop at Queen and Company!

I love this kit and I looooove the adorable sentiments! Orange you just the sweetest?? Makes me smile! Here are my two completed cards. One orange and one watermelon slice! The orange shape can be made into a lemon, orange, lime or grapefruit, depending on what color you make it. I kept the card layouts clean and simple and graphic. Both cards are white A2 card bases. 

 

I used the foundation dies and the included paper pad to create a rainbow striped swatch across the center of the card. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base. The shaker is filled with CUTE little orange slice embellishments!! (Included with the kit also)...

 

I added a few droplets embellishments to look like splashes. And I added a couple of little yellow flowers too! Adorbs. 

 

The kit comes with the full stamp set, a full paper pad, all the dies to make your shakers, and all the foam and acetate too! LOVE!

 

It's really fun to mix and match all the little things inside the shaker. I looooove to add diamonds and sparkly bits. But there are pearls, and all kinds of other things you can add. 

 

 

 

This cute watermelon slice is also a shaker and I kept the design similar to the orange card. I used some pink droplets this time and I made a circle to feature the slice.

Introducing The Greetery June New Product Release!

Hi everybody!!! Happy Monday!!! And it's a goooood Monday indeed!!! Today starts the new release countdown for The Greetery June 2019 products! Yahooooooo. It's very hard to keep a secret around here. I'm happy when I can finally share. Betsy has created another smashing new release and I'll be sharing a card today on day one of release week. She will continue showing projects all week and the entire release will be available for purchase on Friday 6/21 at 10am EST. Be sure to check in daily on The Greetery Blog to see all the pretty samples we've been making to show you. It's a dream to get to work with Betsy and her new company. She's the absolute best!

Today I'm featuring the new stamps and dies called Summer Sketches. Beautiful florals perfect for this time of year. I also used the Sentiment Suite-Birthday stamps and the Sentiment Suites Basics dies. Everything works so nicely together. I chose to use watercolors for my card today. When I saw the stamps, that's really what spoke to me. Pretty, flowy, watercolors. Let's go!

 

The finished card is a grey base A2 size. I chose the color for my card base to match the moody gray stripes on the front panel. To begin, I stamped several of the flower clusters in Archival ink onto watercolor paper. I colored everything with my favorite Mijello Mission watercolors and die cut the florals out with the matching dies. I used Summer colors - green, cornflower blue, red and yellow. So fresh!!!

 

The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder onto black cardstock, then die cut with one of the basics dies. It fit so nicely over the stems of the flowers. Everything is mounted to the card with foam tape. 

 

Here is my work table ready for coloring!

 

I created my own background paper by hand painting stripes onto a sheet of watercolor paper. This is so easy and fun...and you can make whatever color you want! Use a flat brush, and lots of water...and just let it flow.

 

And, you just know I had to splatter! White, gold, and gray splatters for this one! Be sure to dry each color before doing the next color, so they don't all run together. I just give a quick blast with my heat gun.

Guest Designing with Sunny Studio Stamps! Tropical Pop Up Card!

Hi everyone! Happy Weekend! It was a busy and fun week. My husband was off work this week and we've been doing chores and hanging out...and we even went to Yosemite! Great way to kick off the Summer season in California! I posted a lot of pictures from our trip on my Instagram Stories if you want to check them out. You can find them in the highlights section. 

 

I'm very happy and excited to be the guest designer today on the Sunny Studio Blog! I'm always delighted to work with the beautiful and fun stamps and dies from Sunny Studio! They are some of the favs in my craft room for sure. For today's post I combined several tropical and Summer themed stamp sets and made a vacation scene in a pop up card! This one will have you reaching for a Mai Tai! This was my first time making a pop up card! I've had that die for a long time. Somehow, in my mind, I thought it would be hard. But it was SO easy and fun. I'm addicted! Now - Let's get tropical! 

 

 

This card was so much fun to make! I started by stamping and die cutting out a lot of pieces and parts! Palm trees, Birds, Flamingos, Swimming Cuties, Pineapples, and Leaves. Oh My! Then I had fun coloring everything with Copic Markers. I then added accents with a white gel pen...and then some shimmering glitter Diamond Stickles! Once I had all my images colored and ready, I decided to create a pop up card scene that is like a vacation when you open it! I die cut the pop up dies from Kraft cardstock. The pop up box is two pieces and you glue them together. Easy!

 

 

 

 

How cute is that parrot perched in his palm tree??? Love all these images!!

 

 

Once you make the pop up box, you can decorate all the panels on the outside too - so customizable and fun. I used a pretty sentiment on the front and then used a cluster of images to accent the sentiment.  

 

 

I used the awesome Catch A Wave dies set to die cut waves from teal cardstock. I added white gel pen accents to the waves too. I also die cut some puffy clouds for the back of the scene. I used the fabulous Summer Splash paper pad to add colorful paper accents to the project. (Secret: I have about 20 Sunny Studio paper packs in my studio!! LOVE.) I assembled everything together placing all the images inside the pop up. I used the extra images to decorate the sides of the pop up. Here is a photo of the box before I put in all the images. Those waves are the bomb!!

The pop up card folds down to look like this! And then, it fits into a normal A2 envelope!!!! I made this card for my gal pal to send her congratulations on her recent retirement! I added some stamped words to the back and some clouds! 

 

 

Here is the card looking down into it. You see I attached all the images onto the waves and the dies for the pop up card box create the 3D effect! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Sunny Studio stamp sets are all perfectly sized and scaled to mix and match, and that makes it so much fun to create with all your stamp sets. I loved combining everything for this card! Pretty Pink Posh June Release Tropical Blog Hop!

Hi everyone! Welcome to my page and my stop on this awesome two day, blog hop extravaganza!! The blog hop is to celebrate the beautiful tropical themed new release from Pretty Pink Posh! Yipppeeee! It's been tough to keep this release a secret, that's for sure! But today, we're all sharing cards and projects to inspire you with the new release. It has everything perfect for summer! I made two colorful cards to share today. I hope you've got a mai tai ready and your flip flops on! 

Here is a photo of both of my cards together. Both are A2 sized white card bases. I used Copic Markers as my coloring medium for both cards as well. And lots of tropical colors. 

 

 

 

I'll walk you through some of the details on my cards and talk about how I made them. All the stamps and dies are from Pretty Pink Posh. My supply list is at the bottom of my post. These Monstera leaves are sooooo pretty and fun to color! I used four shades of green to get just the right vivid color. I added pink flowers and used the new rhinestones too. I made the clouds border by using the scalloped strip from the Stitched Borders 3 Die. (Hint, later I used it to make waves too!)

 

I stamped and die cut out all the pieces for my card and then went to town with my Copics! I had the best time choosing colors and just making it bright and fun! I colored her shirt with stripes by using copics in summer colors. So easy! Aqua is my uniform color to tie the project together. The 'sand' was made from kraft cardstock splattered with Distress Ink. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

 

Now, the waves were made using the 'negative' piece of scalloped die that made the clouds! Super easy to use what you already have on hand. I die cut two shades of aqua to make the water. I splattered them with white ink to look like ocean spray! 

 

I used gems from the new Luau Mix to add some highlights to the card. I also used a white gel pen to add accents over my coloring. It's hard to see in the photo but I also added clear glaze to her sunglasses, the leaves and parts of the surfboards. 

 

Next up are these cutie patootie Toucans!! They make me smile!! So much fun to color them!! The cute Toucan stamp set comes with the beautiful branch for them to perch on. I stamped and die cut out a bunch of images and colored with Copics. 

 

I played around with a bunch of different card layouts for this one, but ultimately decided to do it this way. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the top layer in crisp black ink to offset all the color. 

 

Here's a little shot of how I colored the leaves, and which Copic Markers I used for them. 

 

These little guys say "SUMMER" for sure!

Fun with Waffle Flower! A Wanda & Lucky Card!

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you have an awesome week planned! It's going to be H O T here in Sacramento so my goal is to stay cool! We had a fun weekend. Saturday was World Wide Knit in Public Day so I went to the park with a bunch of crafty gals and we sat around all afternoon eating snacks and yarning! It was big fun. Then hubs and I had date night! YAY! Yesterday was for chores and crafting! You know I'm on a quest to use all my awesome stamps that haven't been inked yet. This weekend I used THREE new sets and combined them to make two super fun cards!! Can't wait to show you! Thanks for stopping by today to visit! 

My cards today feature Waffle Flower stamps and dies! Yippeeee! You know they are one of my favorite companies! I had the new sets: Go Girl, Be Her and Be Him in my new stamp bin. I thought - hmmmm - surely I can use these all together to create something fun. And, a silly and sweet idea came to me! I made a card featuring me and Lucky! LOL. The Go Girl stamp set makes the cutest paper doll like girls and the Be Her set is adorable animals (including a kitty cat!) I also used some supplies from Lawn Fawn and a beautiful new paper pad! Hurray for creativity!! 

First up is this card with me and Lucky on it!! It makes me smile! The finished card is 5" x 6" to accommodate the two Polaroid frames (I have no idea where that die is from - it was in a bin in my room). The card base is kraft cardstock and then layered with a piece of paper from the new Echo Park Paper Pad. The card will fit into an A7 envelope just fine. Sometimes you have to make your own card size! 

 

I stamped the neck/shoulders of the girl, and the cat and colored them with my Copic Markers. I die cut the little bow tie and the girls' shirt from the same floral patterned paper so they match. Then I die cut the hair and the glasses and pieced it all together. I used a touch of distress ink around the edge of the hair to give it a bit of depth. 

 

The Hello sentiment is also from a Waffle Flower stamp set. I cut it out by hand. 

 

I added one enamel dot to the center of the cat's bow tie. The frames are filled with light blue cardstock which was die cut with the Lawn Fawn Clouds Die Background. Gave a bit of interest instead of just having white paper behind their heads. I used one of my favorite Lawn Fawn alphabet sets to stamp our names onto little banners. EEP.

 

Here's a close up of the clouds background!

 

The name banners and the figures were all attached to the card with foam tape. I affixed everything together with lots of foam tape!!

 

 

 

 

 

Since I had everything out already, I decided to make a second card! This time I made the Go Girl lady into a queen! A crafting queen I think! I gave her a crown and a strand of classy pearls!! SO FUN!! I literally could sit for hours and play with this stamp set!! 

 

This finished card is A2 size. I layered red cardstock and then white cardstock. I die cut the beautiful rays and then also layered some beautiful green leaves. I'm not sure why - but that spoke to me! If you look closely you can see that I added a little floral detail to her shirt by using a stamp with Versamark ink.

 

I colored the center of the sunglasses with grey Copics. 

 

The sentiments in this stamp set are THE BEST!!

Cupcake Cutie Card with Lawn Fawn!

Hi crafty people! I have a treat for you today! I cute little cupcake! How was your weekend? We had a good weekend here in Sactown. My husband has every other Friday off as his work schedule so we usually try to go do something on his 'off' Fridays. This time we went to the ocean - yay! OMG allergies have been so so so relentless this year here where I live. The only way to escape is to get away to the coast. It instantly makes us feel better and I love the ocean anyway! So it's a win/win. Also, on this trip, I found an amazing yarn shop right by the beach! We had a good day full of fog, salt air, and relaxing. The rest of the weekend we did house chores and got things done here. Yesterday I went into the studio super early -right after breakfast - with the intention to stamp all day. Well, I ended up organizing most of the day. You know how that goes....You start with one little box, and before you know it, you've ripped the whole place apart!! So I FINALLY made a card at about 5:00! Right before dinner! Ha. My room feels fresh and lighter today though, which is a good thing. 

For the card I made yesterday, I used my new stash from Lawn Fawn! Their last release is SO fun! I got almost all of it! I used the sweet new cupcake as my focal point, and some of my favorite colors too... Oh, and gingham! 

 

The finished card is A2 size with the fold at the top. I layered soft teal gingham paper as my only paper layer. Then I had fun die cutting all the pieces for the little cupcake! There are a bunch of faces too! LOVE. There is also a candle. CUTEST die set ever. I used the same gingham for the background layer and the cupcake bottom piece to tie the project together. One of my go-to color palettes is aqua/teal, pink and red. Never gets old!

 

The cute little sentiment is actually from a pet set! Ha! It was perfect for this card! I used the Reverse Scallop Circles to die cut out a frame for my cupcake and backed it with vellum to soften the color behind him.

 

The cupcake pieces and the word bubble are all attached to the card with foam tape. I love his wink!!! I finished off with a button and some twine from my stash. I felt like the bottom of the card needed a little texture and dimension.
