Hi everyone! Today I'm popping in with sunshine and rainbows for you! I'm in the studio with allllll the Oscars pre-game on the tv and my kitty asleep in his bed. I have a lot to get done today. So many fun crafty things are coming up in the next couple of weeks. I need to hunker down and create later! Yay! Mark and I enjoyed a fun mini getaway the past two days in San Jose. On Friday I attended the ginormous Stitches West Convention! WOW! How amazing! I just posted on my Instagram stories all my haul from the show. It's a yarn/fiber arts convention. Lemme tell ya - it rivaled CHA for sure. The gals were going cray cray! I had a wonderful time. Everyone was so kind and cheery and helpful. It's a very welcoming crowd. Then yesterday we shopped and ate our way through one of my favorite shopping areas - Santana Row. We got home around 8 last night. Just a little bit of a fun getaway!! Sundays are for staying home in sweat pants!
Today's card is HAPPPPPYYYYYY and bright! I made the pieces (rainbows) a couple weeks ago for one of the days of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I made them into a cheerful card that will be perfect for one of my friends. I combined products from many different companies. I love doing that. I feel like that is also part of my creative process. Mixing and matching supplies from my stash. I used Copic Markers and some shimmery Wink of Stella on the clouds.
I started with a blue card base in A2 size. I layered a piece of white cardstock - yes just one layer today! LOL. Next I stamped and die cut the rainbows and set them aside. Then I die cut the sunshine from Buttercup Cardstock.
On the sunshine, I used a Y38 Copic Marker to add a bit of color to the rays. This gives the die cut a bit more 'life' I think. Just a bit of something something. I also used a Lawn Fawn stamp set to add the smiley face to the sun. He's definitely happy!
This beautiful sentiment is from an awesome set called Rainbow Script - from Hello Bluebird. I always love the look of mixed fonts. I stamped it in the corner of the white card panel.
I colored the rainbows in using Copic Markers in a modified rainbow palette. I swapped out hot pink for red. I used Clear Wink of Stella to cover the clouds. They are VERY shimmery! When I was assembling the card I got a lightbulb idea! How about those cool Swirls dies from Concord & 9th? YES! I used those dies to add the windy swirls in the background. THEN, I put my elements onto the card with foam tape. Lastly I added a few mini hearts.
Here are my Copics used on this card.
I'm most definitely sending YOU Sunshine & Rainbows today! I hope you're having a beautiful Sunday. Are you watching all the Oscars buzz? What are you working on? XOXO

I did watch the last hour or so of the Oscars. I must admit that I just had the tv on while I was checking email. LOL I didn't even see any of the films that were nominated for best picture. Isn't that sad?!!! We usually just wait to see movies when they come out in digital. I did love watching some of the first time winners reactions and speeches. I love it when someone wins who totally didn't expect it. (example: best actress. She was precious!) Best film was good, too. I don't particularly care for people using the stage for political or social views, but understand that it's one way for many people to see/hear their voices. Anyway, love your cheerful card today. Perfect after the past week of rain here in NC. :D

Such a sweet bright happy card. Always love your use of vivid colors.
This card helps brighten up the dark dreary weather we are having.

So super sunny and bright!! Glad you had fun at the expo. Yarn people are really nice and always willing to help you out... it is snowy and this is our second day without power, eek. Hopefully it will be back by this evening. Thanks for sharing!

Wanda; what a darling card! Love! The colors. This card would be a great one to mass produce and have on hand for friends as needed. Hope your week is great! Loved your photographs of your weekend too.
