Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! Hope you're enjoying a lovely Summer weekend! Our weather here is perfection right now and we've been enjoying being out and about - especially at night. I love being outside in the cool evenings of Summer. One of the great joys in life I think! I did my State Fair judging gig on Thursday all day and that was a super cool experience. It seemed like a lot of pressure but so fun at the same time. The other judges were so kind and so interesting. It was very neat to be 'behind the scenes' to see how everything works. Looking forward to attending the awards ceremony once the Fair starts in July!
Today I have something REALLY fabulous to share with you! I'm excited to help launch the brand new stamps and dies release from Ellen Hutson! I adore the "Leading Ladies" Collection of stamps from Ellen Hutson and this release has three new ones! Yippppeeeee! Immediately I neeeeded City Lady - because she is ME! Lol. This card today is entirely autobiographical! Even down to her outfit and the sentiment. What a joy to create this card! Don't you love it when new stamps speak to you? I used paper piecing, and Copic Coloring and lots of layers.... The new release is all available NOW! CLICK HERE to see it all, or find my links at the bottom of my post. {smile} This is me....Chasing dreams and coffee!
This card started with a bright white A2 card base. Then I layered some red cardstock and then one more white layer die cut with a stitched rectangle. Red and white is so crisp for Summer. I actually have about four red/white striped shirts! (I love wearing stripes in the Summer and have tons of shirts like that!!) Her shirt was paper pieced with patterned paper. The wrapper on the flowers was also paper pieced with kraft cardstock. Everything else is colored with Copic Markers.
I stamped and die cut out all the fun images and accessories first. Then I colored everything in with markers. I used a relatively simple color palette to keep the project uniform. The shopping bag pattern was made using the new Pattern Play stamp set that is also launching today!! I masked off the edges of the shopping bag and then stamped the symbols inside.
Here is my go-to color palette for coloring denim and jeans! It's very easy to get a worn denim look! I used these four shades to color and shade... Then I used the Colorless Blender pen to take away the color in the center! I think it really looks like denim!
Close up of those denim blues....
This is the PERFECT sentiment for me! That's my life... If you follow me on Instagram you know how much I love COFFEEEEE!
I made her shoes red to match her outfit!
All the elements were attached to the card front using foam tape. The top white layer is also attached to the card with foam tape. (be right back while I go buy stock in 3M...) LOL. I use a lot of foam tape!
Thank you so so much for popping in today! The rest of the month is pretty quiet for me creatively...I'll have to think of something! Are you participating in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge? I've been trying my best to color each day! XOXO

That outfit is perfect for doing both.... Love how you did the jeans. I am not a big owner of Copics. I would like to see if I could achieve that with colored pencils. Love this card and am so glad you enjoy the fair judging experience. July will be here before we know it.... have a great week.
