Birthday Bees! Fun with Honey Bee Stamps!

Hi there! Happy Monday! I'm buzzzzzing by today with a birthday card made with my favorite beeees! Of course, from Honey Bee Stamps! These Build-a-Bees are the cutest little bees ever! I adore this stamp set and use it often. I love how you can give them different faces and I LOOOOVE to color them! These bees today have a cheerful message for a birthday of any kind... I colored them with Copic Markers and made it look like they're coming out of the box! LOL. Throw in some vellum and embossing....you've got it all! I hope you have a great week!

I really love crafting with yellow! It's so bright and happy. This particular shade of yellow is my favorite - bright and sunny. I started with a white A2 card base, then layered yellow and then white. I stamped and die cut out the bees, the balloons and the box. The box is die cut from kraft paper to look like a delivery box! I stamped some streamers directly onto my top layer of white paper.

In this photo of the stamp set you can see all the different faces! SO CUTE! ACK. I have a hard time choosing. I love that winking one! I colored the balloons and bees with Copic Markers in bright primary colors to add punch.

I wasn't really sure where I was going to put the sentiment on this card. So, I heat embossed the 'happy birthday' in gold embossing powder on a strip of vellum. This is a good trick for a sentiment when you don't want to cover up the art in the project. I wrapped the vellum around the top two layer and over the box. The box, bees and balloons are all attached to the card using foam tape. TIP: When you heat emboss on vellum, it is very easy to burn or warp the vellum (vellum is basically plastic).... So get your heat tool hot - pointed away from the project. Then give it quick blasts of heat. Don't hold it steady over the paper. This will ensure that it stays nice and flat and pretty!

It's hard to see, but their wings are shimmery. I used a clear Wink Of Stella pen to add the shimmer and shine to their little wings. The final step was to add a few yellow sequins. I wanted it to look like the balloons, bees and confetti POPPED out of that box! On the box lid I used Versamark Ink to add some subtle stars.
