Hello everyone! Happy Easter Week! One of the most important weeks of the year for me as a Christian woman. During this week I am particularly mindful of what happened this week and why I am forgiven. It's so powerful and meaningful. I always look forward to church activities all week and to celebrating the good news on Sunday. I hope you are having a wonderful week and I wish you a beautiful Easter. Spring renewal is upon us (most of us) and flowers are blooming and birds are singing. A time of hope and freshness. I love it.
This year I am way behind on everything pretty much. LOL. And that includes Easter cards. Usually I make and post several cards throughout the season, but this year I am only going to have time to share one Easter card! So I went all out and made a hot pink creation with Distress Inks and pretty white embossing. All the stamps are from Papertrey Ink! Supplies are linked at the bottom of my post.
I started with a pretty grey A2 card base. I loooooove pink and grey together. YUM. I layered white paper embossed with a beautiful cover plate from Lil Inker Designs and then some vellum. My top layer is Bristol cardstock (which I am loving right now) and it holds up nicely to all the inking and splattering!
I used three shades of Distress Inks: Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry. SOOOOOO pretty together!!!!! First I embossed the flowers, leaves and sentiment with clear ink and white embossing powder onto the panel. Then I used my Distress Ink Blending Tool to make a gradual ombre with the three pink shades. EEK. I went right over the embossing which looks so crisp against all the color.
After the inking was dry, I used a paint brush and water and splattered Picked Raspberry ink onto the panel. Once that was dry, I splattered some Copic Opaque White with a paintbrush too. I also spritzed the ink with plain water - which is why you see the lighter spots. In this photo you can see all my layers.
Here's a close up!
HE IS RISEN! Such a beautiful font for this sentiment!
I sprinkled some bright white pearls on the finished card for a touch of elegance. The tulips in the photos are from our front yard! They matched my project exactly so I had to cut them and bring them inside. I would say those tulips are Picked Raspberry for sure!!
This past Saturday I went to a really lovely event and I wanted to share a few photos from it! It was a Yelp Elite Event sponsored by Whole Foods. They catered a beautiful brunch with all kinds of delicious food, and amazing flowers and drinks. It was a celebration of the Whole Foods Beauty Week! We got to make our own sugar body scrubs and they gave us gift bags with fun samples inside. Really a good time!! All beauty is on sale at Whole Foods through the 27th for 25% off! Yesssss!
So that's it for me today! I hope you have a great day! Happy Easter! XOXO

Absolutely beautiful. Speaks of the gift we receive at Easter. Love the blended pinks. Your tulips are gorgeous. You are definitely ahead of Michigan. Our forecast could bring us snow for Easter Sunday. I have shopped at a Whole Foods store when we traveling. The closest to me is an hour away. Your pictures are so wonderful. Happy Easter to you and your husband.
