Howdy friends! How was your Labor Day Weekend!? It was a glorious and beautiful early Fall weekend here in Northern California! Friday night I went to a super fun retirement party for one of my dear friends and we all had a great time! Saturday I helped celebrate the 10 year anniversary of my friend's stamp store - Paper Garden and had a really lovely day with crafty pals. The air is crisp and cool and the windows are open.... And the Stamptember fun continues! Did you enjoy to big blog hop over the weekend?? One word - awesome! There is so much more to come. I am particularly excited about the big collaboration reveal that will happen this coming Saturday, the 10th. Mums the word. TOP secret! I can't wait to share!
Today I have two cards to show you, both made with the new Hydrangea Blooms stamp set and watercoloring. When I first saw these images, I immediately thought 'watercolor!' so that's what I did. One sort of loose and messy, and one more structured. These are clean and simple cards, but the watercoloring is the star!
Here's the first card! I die cut a Stitched Rectangle panel out of watercolor paper and stamped my hydrangea blooms in Archival Black Ink (which is waterproof). I used the pretty Prima Watercolor Palettes and a soft brush to color in the images. I used shades of lilac, purple and hot pink for the blooms. The centers are a bright yellow (links at the bottom of my post). I set the panel aside to dry completely. Once it was dry, I went back and watercolored a soft pretty blue in the open spaces.
I die cut a black Stitched Banner and white heat embossed the pretty sentiment onto it before adhering it to the card. In this photo you can also see that I speckled white paint specks over the top of my watercoloring. I am totally loving that look right now!!
For the finishing touch I added a few pretty clear droplets to the card. These are so nice with floral images!
For the second card, I started in basically the same way - by die cutting a Stitched Rectangle out of watercolor paper and stamping my blooms. For this card I used pretty shades of purple and blue and lavender to watercolor wash over the entire panel, not being too careful about it. Once the initial wash of color was dry, I went back and splattered dark green blue and white paint over the entire thing - really messy and fun!
It is sometimes hard to get a nice impression on watercolor paper - for the sentiment for example. I used my MISTI tool to stamp the sentiment and because it lines up so perfectly, I was able to stamp it three or four times to get a nice strong black impression!!
Thank you so much for joining me today! I truly hope you are having as much fun as I am with all the STAMPtember inspiration! Something for everyone! Be sure to come back on Saturday! Have an amazing week. XOXO

Love both cards. Hydrangeas are one of my favorites. I love the loose water coloring, so popular right now. Great cards Wanda, I am loving Stamptember.

Beautiful cards. I think I'll ask Santa for a mini Misti. Do you use the Ranger brushes? My watercolor brushes are getting old, and I need to replace them. I'm looking for a small brush that holds its point and doesn't shed everywhere.
