Hi crafty friends! Happy Monday! Did you have a great weekend? I hope so!! Did you enjoy the blog hop on Friday? The winners will be announced today on the Simon Says Stamp Blog so be sure to check and see if you won a prize! I had a nice weekend - very calm and peaceful. We have been having gorgeous weather and it's perfect for doing things around the house. I also got to hang out with some of my favorite friends on Saturday. And, then, like that it's Monday again! I cannot stop sharing cards that I made with the new Simon Says Stamp release that came out last Thursday. Seriously. CANNOT STOP!
So I'm back today with two more cards! This time I took the same card concept and did it two different ways. One is very quick and clean and simple, and the other one is a bit more complicated and layered. It was really fun to stamp these beautiful leaves in one of my favorite color palettes of greens and aqua. The new Tropical Leaves stamps and dies are perfectly elegant and beautiful. I already know these are going to be a staple in my studio and I will reach for them often.
First up, here is a photo of both cards together.... I used cream cardstock for a more understated and classy feeling. This would also be so pretty in white.... Both of my card bases are cream also.
Here is the quick and simple version of the card. I love the layout of having the leaves form a frame around a pretty sentiment. You can't go wrong with this concept in leaves or flowers! I got out a lot of green inks and just went to town!
And here is the more complex and layered version! The same concept, but with more color and the addition of a cardstock layer in the middle. For this version I used the dies that cut out the leaves perfectly too! I am loving that pop of bright aqua! And, because it's me, I had to add some enamel dots!! The stamp set for the sentiments is called Big Scripty Greetings and it's lovely! (Product links at the bottom of my post)
I could also see this card using greens and then a bright pink instead of aqua! What do you think? I want to have a tropical party just so I can make invitations now! Hahaha. I hope I've inspired you to create and have some fun! Until we meet again! XOXO

Hi Wanda, great cards! I love both colors, it has a different feel. They remind me of being on vacation in the islands and the pretty wall paper in that hotel and m staying on that vacation. Now I just have to go on that vacation, lol! Thanks for always sharing and inspiring.
