Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! How was your week? I had a good week - and it went by fast! Thursday night I met up with some gal pals and we had a nice dinner and took a card class at our local Paper Source! We had a really nice time. Friday our new washer and dryer got delivered. We had been without for about 10 days. Needless to say I spent most of Friday doing laundry. We switched back from a front loader to a top loader and it seems to be working great. UGH. Glad that drama is over and we have nice fresh towels again! What do you have planned for the weekend? If you have time pop over to the Simon Says Stamp blog to see my project for today (posted at 8am EST) It's something out of my comfort zone but I really like it! Next week will be a new release from Simon Says Stamp and a big blog hop. I looooooove new release week!
So today I'm gonna be kind of bossy with you. I'm not normally bossy, but I tried out a product yesterday that is SO FREAKING COOL that I am going to demand that you buy it!!! I had some time Friday afternoon for creative play and the one thing that's been at the top of my list of things to do - is playing with my Mini Minc. I think I've had it six weeks already. Just sitting there.... Well I had an idea for a card and I bought this cool mist stuff (that is the thing you must buy) and went to town! First of all - I love the Minc! It was so super easy to use, right out of the box. Not sure why I waited. Second of all, this misting technique is THE BOMB! Okay, lemme show you!
It's hard to photograph since it's so shiny....but see the background? GOLD FOILING MIST! ACK! So you use this stuff called Minc Reactive Mist and it's a spray. You spray it on your object, card, whatever and let it dry. Once it's dry, you run it through the Minc with whichever color foil you want, and bam! It's SO pretty! And it has a bit of a raised texture. OMG. LOVE. The stamps and dies for the coral and seahorse are from Avery Elle's newest collection. The Hello die is from Simon Says Stamp. Links at the bottom.
I die cut the coral pieces out of watercolor paper and watercolored them with Distress Inks in Abandoned Coral and Worn Lipstick. I also die cut the Hello out of watercolor paper and watercolored it with Cracked Pistachio Ink. The seahorse was stamped in Ripe Persimmon Ink and then I used a water brush to soften the edges of the stamping.
Here I was able to catch the gold in the light of the window.
My original idea involved watercoloring the paper first with splatters of pretty ocean colors and then doing silver splatters with the Minc. Here is what that looked like! Kind of a hot mess! So I switched over to plain white paper with just gold and I liked that much better.
Here is just the background piece as I was putting my card together. The Reactive Mist is in that little bottle.
So, I tried to keep it Clean and Simple, but I really can't help myself. I love these colors together and for me it is kind of simple!
Do you have a Minc Machine? Do you like it? What is your favorite thing to use it for? I now want to make everything in my life Gold Foil! Buddy better watch out! I hope this post gave you some fun ideas and maybe you'll try this. I'd love to know what you think - leave a note!! Have a super fantastic weekend! XOXO
SUPPLIES FOR THIS PROJECT:
Hi Wanda,
The card is beautiful. I am interested in getting the die for the coral. Did you cut the details of the coral die out by hand?

Hi Wanda, love your card, I had not seen the Minc mist before, I have a couple of questions about it, can you spray it on stamps and then foil them, does it have to dry before you foil?
Thanks for the inspiration!
