Happy 10th Blogiversary to my friend Jenn Shurkus!

Hey everyone! I'm here today with a fun post - helping my sweet, crafty friend Jenn Shurkus celebrate her TEN YEAR Blogiversary! WOO HOOOOO! Way to go Jenn! I was so delighted when she wrote and asked me if I would like to be part of her celebration! What did I say? Heck yeah! Jenn and I share the love of the ocean, distress inks, and our crazy felines. I truly hope that I can meet her in person one day... But for now she is my lovely blogging friend.

The 'challenge' from Jenn was to CASE one of our favorite cards of hers and make our own version. I had a hard time picking which card to CASE because there were so many good ones to choose from. I ended up choosing the card I did because the pretty, bright colors just really called to me! Here is my card for today....

And here is Jenn's card that I chose to CASE! I loved the vivid colors and the pretty butterfly in flight...oh and the watercolor effect! Actually, I pretty much loved everything about this card! CLICK HERE for Jenn's original blog post about this card.

I used some pretty floral stamps from WPlus9 along with my trusty Distress Ink pads.... I stamped my florals onto watercolor paper and then took a water brush and lightly wet the ink to soften all the edges. I also made some green spatters on my paper.

The butterfly die and embossing folder is from Tim Holtz for Sizzix...LOVE. I colored the butterfly with distress inks and then added some clear Wink Of Stella pen over it. I had that pretty center resin flower in my stash...and the color matched really well.

The word stickers are from Ideaology by Tim Holtz and I just chose a bunch of words that spoke to me...I am still loving the trend of graphic black + florals. On my card I added just the thinnest layer of black paper around my watercolor piece.

I gently curved up the butterfly wings with my fingers and then glued it to the paper with Glossy Accents.

LOVE LOVE LOVE and so proud of you (as I was myself) to not use blues ;) HA! i really love how your butterfly came out and the resin embellishment! thank you SO much for being part of my blogiversary celebration it means a lot to me :)

Oh, wow, this is SO breathtaking, my friend! Such gorgeous colors and the butterfly and flowers are soooooo vivid and eye catching! The black pops so well, and really pulls everything together. I love that you did the sentiment in black. Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous!
